Tattoo Aftercare
  1. In 2-3 hours remove the bandage! If it sticks use warm water, moisten the bandage and pull it off slowly.

  2. Wash your tattoo gently! Once the bandage is removed use clean hands, cold water and antibacterial soap. Always pat dry never scrub your tattoo! Allow the tattoo to air dry for 10-15 minutes before applying the ointment. Wash your new tattoo at least twice a day for the first week.

Note: Residual pigments and a clear to red fluid may “leak” from the tattoo for the next couple of hours, this is common. Do not allow this fluid to dry and clot to the surface of the tattoo. This is the start of a scab. Gently wash clots away only during the first wash if present, then bathe as normal.

  3. Apply a thin coat of A&D ointment! This should be done 3-5 times a day for the next 1-3 days. Rub ointment into the area leaving a nice shine to the tattoo. If you can see the ointment built up on the skin surface that’s too much.

Note: Do not use Neosporin, baby oil, or Vaseline.
  4. A healing tattoo may itch. Do not scratch it! Use a thin coat of skin healing hand cream after the 1-3 days of ointment use are finished. Fragrance and dye free lotions work best from day 3 on.

  5. Avoid: Hot tubs, steam rooms, swimming in fresh, salt or chlorine water, direct sunlight, and tanning beds for 7-10 days.

Note: The body perceives the new tattoo as second degree sunburn, if it is exposed to UV rays during the healing process you could receive third degree sunburn which may lead to future complications.

  6. The new tattoo may form a light protective crust over top of it, do not pick at this layer, let it flake off on its own.

  7. Do not wear tight clothing directly over the new tattoo! No tight clothing or underwear for atleast 7-10 days.

  8. Always protect your tattoo from the sun, SPF 35 or higher should do. Do not use during healing process.

  9. Infections are rare but in case you do not follow the care instructions and an infection occurs, please consult your physician immediately!

    Body and Facial Piercing Aftercare
  1. Do not let your piercing come in contact with cosmetics, lotions, perfumes, hairspray, unwashed hands, others bodily fluids, or rough play.

  2. Swimming, spas, and hot tubs are not advices during healing. If you are going to submerge your piercing, use a non water-permeable sealant such as: Tagaderm or Clean Seals.

  3. Pillow case and bed sheets should be clean.

  4. Mild sea salt-water soaks are suggested once a day to speed up healing and increase comfort. Dissolve ¼ tspn of iodine-free sea salt into a 8oz cup of warm water. Soak piercing for a few minutes. Rinse with clear warm water and pat dry with clean paper towel.

  5. The piercing should be cleaned 2-3 times daily with clean hands.

  6. To prepare for cleaning soak piercing with warm water to loosen and remove any crust around the piercing.

  7. Apple a small handful of antibacterial soap, such as dial, around the area with clean hands. Gently rotate the jewelry a few times, allow the soap to cleanse there for a minute. Rinse the area under running water while rotating jewelry to rinse out all soap. Pat dry with clean paper towel.

       Oral Piercings
  1. Rinse mouth for 30-60 seconds with Listerine within 15 minutes of eating, smoking, or drinking anything except bottled water.

  2. Avoid oral contact, chewing gum, tobacco, and fingernails, etc. during healing.

  3. Reduce smoking during initial healing.

  4. Stay away from spicy, salty, acidic, or hot temperature foods and beverages. Try to eat food in small bites.

  5.  Rinse once daily with a mild salt & water mixture.

        Genital Piercings

  1. Follow the body and facial piercing instructions.

  2. You should drink a full glass of water before cleaning any piercing in or around the urethra. After rinsing thoroughly, urinate to remove remaining soap.

  3. A new piercing does not prevent sexual activity. Use of condoms and dental dams are highly recommended. Pleasure plus condoms have extra room for jewelry.

  4. If piercing becomes sore you need to ease up or stop for the time being.
